2026 Board of Directors Election

PFC Owners, It's Time to Vote for the Board!

One of the fundamentals of the cooperative business structure is One Member, One Vote. A minimum of 10% of the PFC’s owners must vote in order for this election to be valid and ensure our empty board positions are filled. While we hope for far more than minimum participation, reaching that 10% goal is vital for the perpetuation of a strong, visionary PFC Board of Directors.

Each year, three of nine board seats go up for election. This year, there is one individual running. We work hard to encourage those interested in board participation to run for the board. Elections offer the PFC ownership the best chance to elect diverse representation at the board level. This year’s election is uncontested, and voting is extremely important. As a cooperative, we don’t take leadership selection lightly, and we know that each one of our board members brings a vision that is meant to represent you, our owners.

In the following pages, you’ll find statements from the candidates. Voting will occur online through Survey Monkey, with links emailed to you at your email of record with PFC, and linked below. Paper ballots are also available in store. Please remember that you can only vote once. Submitting multiple ballots will invalidate your vote. All voting must be completed by 8 pm Sunday, May 17, to allow for counting of votes by the Annual Owner Meeting on Friday, May 29 at 5:30pm.

The Board of Directors represents you as an owner, setting clear direction for the organization through visionary policy, then overseeing the management of PFC finance and operations to achieve that vision. Consider these activities and needs as you consider the excellent slate of candidates below.

If you have questions about the board elections or your ballot, please contact the Board at board@pfckalamazoo.coop.

Sincerely,
PFC Board of Directors

STATEMENTS OF CANDIDACY
Ann Matz

I have been a PFC owner and regular shopper for the last 10 years. I have worked in accounting and financial reporting for more than 30 years, with a considerable amount of nonprofit experience. I am currently the Business Manager at WMUK, which is a labor of love for me. And serving on the PFC Board would also be a labor of love, as I am passionate about both public radio and the PFC! I would bring many years of financial and analytical experience, and a genuinely helpful and collaborative presence to the Board. The PFC is important to me, and is such an important fixture in this community. I believe that I can help make a stronger and financially stable PFC for future generations – and would appreciate the opportunity to try.
