Jump Start is a peer mentoring program created to assist first-year students in their transition to Northwest Missouri State University. Students with similar backgrounds, interests, and perspectives are paired with upper-class student mentors who help them thrive academically, socially, and personally as they navigate the college experience.
Jump Start mentees, or participants, will engage in a Pre-Advantage Week experience that fosters community among a small cohort of students while introducing them to university faculty and staff. Through this experience, students will discover opportunities for involvement, gain awareness of university resources, and receive guidance on wellness and academic success.
