JHJC Food Policy Survey

The Jackson Hole Jewish Community is reviewing its food policy for synagogue-sponsored events. Our goal is to develop a policy that is welcoming, respectful of Jewish tradition, practical, and reflective of the diverse values and practices within our community.

Your feedback will help guide the Board as it considers future food policies for congregational events. This anonymous survey should take approximately 5 minutes to complete. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Kosher Style: Food that follows traditional Jewish dietary practices by serving no pork, no shellfish, and no meat or poultry together with dairy. Fish and dairy may be served together. Food is not required to be prepared under kosher supervision or be certified kosher.

Kosher Hybrid: Food follows the same dietary guidelines as Kosher Style (no pork, no shellfish, and no meat or poultry served with dairy). However, when both meat and dairy are offered at the same event, they are served on separate tables or serving stations, allowing guests to choose either meat or dairy according to their own dietary practice.

Certified Kosher: Food that has been prepared and handled according to Jewish dietary laws under recognized kosher supervision or certification.
