Purpose
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to CGC applicants, especially those who would bring unique perspectives to the genetic counseling profession. ABGC's DEIJ Committee will utilize the following applicant questions and long form response question, to evaluate these applications. This application window will close on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

Eligibility
  • Candidates must be testing during the February 2027 exam cycle.
  • Candidates must be a graduate or in their last semester of an approved ACGC program.
    • If you are a 2027 graduate, please have your program director send a letter to ABGC Headquarters (info@abgc.net) confirming you are on track to graduate from your program. If we do not receive this letter of confirmation from your program director, your application will not be considered for the scholarship.
  • Candidates may only receive the scholarship once in a three-year cycle.
Requirements

Candidates will be required to submit the following:
  • Completed application
  • Response to the question: "What perspective(s), lived experiences or commitments do you bring to the genetic counseling profession, and how would obtaining your CGC credential allow you to have an impact on the field? Applicants may draw on lived experience, community engagement, service, training pathways, or professional goals and aspirations."
