Scholarship Application to attend the Fall 2026 NOVA Victim Assistance Academy

The NOVA Victim Assistance Academy™ (NVAA) is a forty-hour virtual training for aspiring and new victim assistance professionals. This unique NOVA academy provides comprehensive, skill-based training ideal for those new to the field, although we welcome advocates at any level! The NVAA covers 20 integral topics that together form a comprehensive, trauma informed foundation for a victim advocate.


You will learn from 20 nationally recognized Subject Matter Expert(SME) Faculty Members, bringing expertise from the National Center for Victims of Crime (NCVC), Stalking Prevention, Awareness, and Resource Center (SPARC), the National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA), the Peace Corps, NOVA and more!


The Fall is offered as a Hybrid Model with a combination of live and asynchronous (pre-recorded) virtual training, that allows more flexibility, consisting of 20 hours of live virtual instruction, and 20 hours of pre-recorded training.

There are two class options for the Fall NVAA, you will need to indicate whether you would like to be registered for the Monday or Wednesday class should you receive a scholarship. Class scheduled are provided below:

Course Schedules:
Class Option 1 – Live Class Schedule
Tuesdays from 11am – 4pm ET (1 hr lunch break)
October 13, October 20, October 27, November 3, November 10

OR

Class Option 2 – Live Class Schedule
Thursdays from 1pm – 6pm ET (1 hr lunch break)
October 15, October 22, October 29, November 5, November 12
  • You can ONLY register and attend EITHER the Tuesday OR Thursday class - students will not be permitted to switch between classes.

To earn the NVAA Certificate of Completion, you must:
Complete all 10 live courses (Attending All Live Classes & Completing Surveys)
Complete all 10 pre-recorded courses (Watching Recordings & Completing Surveys)
Attendance at all live classes is a requirement in order to receive your certificate.







All scholarship applications must be received by end of day on Monday, August 24th. Applicants will be notified of whether they received a scholarship or not by Friday, August 28th.
