Welcome to this Survey on nutrition in non-dialysis CKD. The survey will take approximately 20 minutes.

Why are we doing this Survey? This is the first step of a larger project, the IDON-Study, by the European Renal Nutrition (ERN) Working Group at the European Renal Association–European Dialysis and Transplant Association (ERA–EDTA) aimed at achieving a Consensus on the major controversial issues on nutrition in non-dialysis CKD. This Survey is expected to identify the clinical priorities in this field according to the perspective of all the Stakeholders involved in the process: Nephrologists, Nutritionists, Dietitians, Nurses and Patients. A second round to reach the final consensus (DELPHI methodology) might be possible; in case you would like to take part in this further survey, you may express your interest at the end. Overall, the IDON study, based on the results of this Survey, will reach a worldwide applicable Consensus on nutritional issues in non dialysis CKD. Results of the Survey will be available on the ERN webpage.

Confidentiality: All responses provided will be anonymised, treated confidentially, used for statistical purposes and reported only in aggregated form.

Instructions for compilation: Patient’s relatives can complete the Survey on behalf of the patient in case of inability; in this case, the personal information of the writer is requested, except for patients/disease characteristics. You may choose only one answer for each question (closed-ended questions) and all responses are mandatory in order to proceed. If the Survey is abandoned prior to the end, the system will automatically save the responses already given, but it won’t be possible to resume the Survey (incomplete Surveys are of no use for the statistical analysis). At the end of the Survey you will be asked to provide an email address for the possible second round of the process. The Survey consists of 3 sections:
Section 1 – includes a few questions on personal information
Section 2 – includes a few questions on clinical practice (for health care professionals) or the disease (for patients)
Section 3 – includes questionnaire composed by clinical items  related to nutrition in non-dialysis CKD, for each item it is requested to rate the priority (importance), on a 9-point Likert scale, considering the perspective as health care professionals (clinical practice) or patient (personal experience along the course of the disease)
