Survey to Assess the IBD Needs within the LGBTQIA+ Community

This survey to assess inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) needs within lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual (LGBTQIA+) and other sexual and gender minority communities is being conducted to understand the clinical and research needs and priorities of the LGBTQIA+ community with IBD. The purpose of this study is to understand better the healthcare experiences and challenges of people with IBD who identify as LGBTQIA+.

By participating in this survey, you are providing valuable information which will be used to aid the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation in guiding healthcare professionals on how to deliver equitable and inclusive care. Data gathered will also be used by the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation and other organizations to focus our education and research priorities on what is essential to the LGBTQIA+ community while also creating frameworks for programs dedicated to offering more inclusive care.

Completion of this survey is voluntary. Although there is no guarantee of a direct benefit to you from completing the survey, the information you provide will help the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation to better serve IBD patients in the future. There are minimal risks to participating in the survey.

We encourage you to respond candidly. Many precautions have been taken to protect your information. Your responses to this survey are collected in a confidential manner, stored on a secure server, and will be anonymous in all reports. The findings from this study will be reported as a summary of all participants' responses, ensuring that no individual can be identified.

A short form of the survey should take about 20 minutes to complete. If you would like to participate in the extended version of the survey with open-ended questions, the survey may take up to 20 additional minutes to complete.

Please contact Amber Towns at atowns@crohnscolitisfoundation.org if you have questions regarding the survey or your participation.
