Introduction...
If you are a participant in the RSGB HF Contests, or in the Commowealth Contest, thankyou for taking part.
We are trying to avoid changing rules, but on-going changes in equipment and operating practices mean that we should consider some alterations.
We have already agree to some rule changes which both the HF Contest Committee and attendees at the RSGB Convention have supported and agree that further consultation is not necessary:
1. We will remove the 100W restriction on power in the AFS 80m & 40m Datamodes Contests for PSK63 operation. We will include a note relating to disabling compression (speech processing) and monitoring ALC levels in PSK63 and RTTY.
2. We will allow multi-operator entries in the 1st and 2nd 1.8 MHz Contests but will stipulate that “only one transmitted signal is permitted at any time”.
3. We will remove the suggestion to call ‘CQ RSGB’ or 'CQ TEST' in all FT4 Contests as “passing trade” is important in these events.
We do have some potential changes which we would appreciate your opinion on in a short survey and will use the results of this to guide us how to proceed.
This survey will be closed on Monday 24 November.
