The BVA Advancement of Veterinary Science Award (Dalrymple-Champneys Cup and Medal) recognises a BVA member who has advanced veterinary science and medicine through research and knowledge sharing. They have authored work or undertaken activities that spread knowledge and improved understanding in their field.
Your nominee must be a BVA member to be eligible for this award.In assessing the nominations for this award, the judges may consider:
- Quality and volume of contributions made – eg the number of papers published in reputable journals
- Breadth of contributions – eg work which goes wider than research papers, such as efforts to disseminate the knowledge gained
- Uniqueness of contributions – ie how much of the work can be attributed to the individual rather than a wider team
- Scale of impact on the veterinary profession and/or animal welfare – importance of topic and improvements this had led to
