The Oregon Arts Commission and Oregon Cultural Trust are conducting a survey to help define and measure Oregon’s creative economy, including the people and organizations that make it thrive. Findings will inform a statewide analysis of the creative economy and help identify opportunities to strengthen Oregon’s creative industries and cultural organizations.
Who should complete the survey? We want to hear from people and organizations involved in Oregon’s creative economy, including:
- Independent artists, freelancers, contractors, and self-employed creative workers
- Organizations and businesses involved in the creation, production, presentation, preservation, distribution, or sale of creative and cultural goods and services
Creative activities may include arts and culture, music, film, media, design, publishing, heritage and preservation, culinary arts, and related fields.
The survey will adapt based on how you participate in Oregon’s creative economy. Independent and self-employed creative workers can expect about 5 minutes. Organizations and businesses can expect about 20 - 25 minutes and will be asked for basic employment and financial information.
Estimates are welcome, and you may skip questions when information is not readily available. We would rather receive your best available information than have you not participate because you cannot answer every question.
How will the information be used?Responses will be analyzed in aggregate to describe Oregon’s creative economy and its economic contributions. Individual responses and organization-specific financial information will not be published in a way that identifies you or your organization without permission.
Thank you for helping us build a more complete picture of Oregon’s creative economy!
