The Public Policy Academy is a year-long training series designed to empower our next generation of NBCC member advocates. Individuals who complete the Public Policy Academy are eligible to be considered for Team Leader and other senior positions within our grassroots network. Academy members agree to participate in the monthly academy zoom meetings, special Academy events at the annual Leadership Summit, targeted advocacy actions and other opportunities with the goal of ensuring NBCC becomes their primary focus for breast cancer advocacy activities. Training topics include:
-Congressional Advocacy 101
-The federal Appropriations process
-Building effective relationships with Congressional offices
-Honing a personal story that moves stakeholders
-Building your advocacy network
