Derry City and Strabane District Good Relations Strategy

Derry City and Strabane District Council

Derry City and Strabane District Council is developing a Good Relations Strategy and Action Plan 2026-2029 to improve community relations in the Council area through the promotion of positive relations between persons of different religious belief, political opinion, or racial group. We can enhance good relations by promoting cultural diversity and respect for all cultural identities.

The Council is committed to fostering a shared community where every resident feels safe, respected, and valued as an integral part of our society.

The Council wishes to take the opportunity presented by the development of a new Good Relations Strategy to develop a programme of activity which meets the current and emerging needs of our communities in creating a shared and cohesive community environment for all of our residents.

We want your feedback to make sure that we are targeting Good Relations funds, which are being made available by The Executive Office and Derry City and Strabane District Council, in the most effective way.

The Good Relations Action Plan aims to identify priority actions under 4 key themes:
  • Our Children and Young People
  • Our Shared Community
  • Our Safe Community
  • Our Cultural Expression
Please take 5 minutes to give us your thoughts on the key priorities for action through this survey.

The survey will remain open until Thursday the 23rd of January.
