Dear Members of the Gill-Montague and Pioneer Valley Communities:

Members of the Six Town Regional Planning Board want to hear perspectives from their various constituents as they consider the fiscal and educational advisability of establishing a new Regional School District. The Planning Board, comprised of representatives of each of the six towns in the two regions, was formed two years ago to study whether the Gill-Montague and Pioneer Valley school districts should consolidate given declining enrollments.

The Planning Board is exploring opportunities to expand present learning activities and project learning designs, including a robust curriculum for all high school and middle school students that is both affordable and sustainable. Phase 1 of this work resulted in a detailed report about the educational and financial aspects of regionalization. We encourage everyone to read this report:  https://sites.google.com/view/strpb/home.

The Planning Board now seeks the opinions of students, parents, educators and residents in the member towns about the possibility of a dedicated (or “consolidated”) school for middle grades and a dedicated (or “consolidated”) school for high school grades.

Please take a few minutes to answer the questions below by December 8th. It should take less than 10 minutes and all information will remain anonymous.
