Gateshead and Newcastle’s Single Point of Access Service is a referral process for young people struggling with their mental health.
There are two pathways: ‘Getting Help’ where young people can see a counsellor for mild to moderate mental health issues, or ‘Getting More Help’ where young people are referred to Children and Young People’s (CYPS) service for moderate – severe mental health concerns as well as Neurodevelopment Diagnostic Pathway.
The current ‘Getting Help’ offer is a counselling-based service, but feedback from young people and parent/carers suggests this isn’t meeting young people’s needs. The local NHS are now looking at how else we can support young people’s mental health.
We would be very grateful if you could share your views with us through this short anonymous questionnaire.
