Survey Introduction

New Mexico is beginning our Outdoor Recreation Plan and needs vistors' input! The plan will address the state and nation's outdoor recreation trends and their economic impacts. It will inventory resources and address how best to protect them.

This survey is for visitors. We need your input on our outdoor recreation opportunities to make sure the plan identifies all resources and all voices are heard. There is a separate survey for New Mexican residents here: GetOutside,NM! Resident Survey

The focus of the survey is outdoor recreation, which are activities you do outside for fun or leisure when it’s safe to travel. For this survey, outdoor recreation does not include entertainment such as music concerts, racetracks, or amusement parks. It also does not include going to outdoor markets, zoos, or watching sporting events for entertainment.

Your participation in this survey is voluntary. The survey should take about 18 minutes to complete.

We sincerely appreciate your time and effort in completing this important survey!

For more information on the plan, draft documents, and research findings visit the project website, GetOutsideNM.org. We expect results from our outreach efforts to be posted on the website in February 2021.

Survey responses will be confidential. This study is being administered by the New Mexico Energy, Minerals, and Natural Resources Department working in cooperation with Sites Southwest, a private contractor. Questions about this survey can be forwarded to David Certain at DavidL.Certain@state.nm.us
