Background:
Metal storage containers (also known as sea cans) like the one in the photo above are currently
only allowed on Osoyoos properties zoned as agricultural or general industrial, and in accordance with these regulations:
1. Maximum of 2, and cannot be stacked
2. Placement guidelines same as for other structures on a property, such as a garage
3. Cannot be placed between a principal building and the front street
NOTE: Metal storage containers may be temporarily placed for construction in
all zones with an approved building permit
To support future planning, the Town is seeking your feedback on the use of
permanently placed metal storage containers in Osoyoos'
residential zones.
