We Need Your Help

A number of participants in YWCA Glendale’s Domestic Violence Program are unable to provide clothing and toys for their children during the holidays. We are asking local families, businesses, and community groups to “adopt” one or more of these families, providing them with the requested items to brighten up their holiday season.

How It Works

You may choose to adopt a small, medium, or large-sized family. If you are unable to adopt a family, you can still choose to donate gift cards to help these families.

You should receive the family’s wish list before the end of November, after all families have been matched. Wish lists include sizes, preferences and any special needs. Please do not wrap gifts. Put gifts in a large bag or box  label with family ID. Gifts should be dropped off at the YWCA GLENDALE office between Monday- Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Please drop off gifts by December 14th. Please call or email us to arrange a pick-up.

Important Tips

Please be sure when you purchase items on the wish list that children’s gifts are your priority. The average cost to buy for a small family is $250. You are welcome to purchase gifts for the parents as well. We ask that you purchase new clothing and toys only. No used donations will be accepted.
