MEMA District 1 is updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan. A hazard mitigation plan identifies actions that can reduce the impacts of natural hazards such as flooding, severe storms, tornadoes, winter storms, drought, extreme heat, dam or levee failure, and other hazards before disasters happen.

Mitigation is designed to reduce loss of life and property by lessening the impact of disasters before they occur. It means taking action now to reduce human and financial consequences later.

Your input will help MEMA District 1 and participating local jurisdictions identify community hazards, vulnerable areas, past disaster impacts, and mitigation actions that should be considered during the plan update. This survey should take approximately 5–10 minutes to complete.
