In 2019, Russ Nature Reserve sustained significant damage during the tornado. While community volunteers did a tremendous job cleaning up the reserve, the Russ Visitor Center was damaged beyond repair. The visitor center was being renovated for a 2019 opening to better serve Greene County citizens.
