Name of Nominee and Credentials

The NCSN Recognition Award is presented during the annual NASN conference to a Nationally Certified School Nurse (NCSN) who:
  1. Is nominated by a peer by January 31, 2026;
  2. Demonstrates achievements at the national, state, or local level that (1) enhance the competence of school nurses and (2) effectively promotes national school nurse certification;
  3. Is an active NCSN in good standing; and
  4. Is employed in the specialty area of school health.

The following documents must be included with the application:
(1) A letter of recommendation from a peer that highlights the nominee's activities, (2) A personal statement from the nominee describing their activities and sharing examples of how they have promoted certification at the national, state, or local levels. Further instructions regarding what must be included in both documents are provided in the application.

Current NBCSN Board of Director members are not eligible for the NCSN Recognition Award. Past NBCSN Board of Director members will become eligible for this award 3 years following the conclusion of their NBCSN Board term.
