Application for GATEWAY to Trade Export Acceleration Programme

In order to be eligible for participation in the GATEWAY to Trade export acceleration programme, please complete and submit this application by end of day, Friday, September 24, 2021.
GATEWAY to Trade is an export capacity building and acceleration program for services companies. This programme is offered to selected participants, free of charge, with the support of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Trinidad and Tobago Coalition of Services Industries (TTCSI.) The objective of the GATEWAY to Trade programme is to provide the training, coaching and strategic guidance necessary to support services firms in penetrating export markets more quickly and with more success. This will result in the growth of services exports from Trinidad and Tobago, and enhance economic development.
This programme is intended for service providers/companies in the following priority sectors:
  • Business and Events Tourism - event planners, etc. 
  • Business and Professional Services - legal activities, accounting, booking and auditing activities, tax consultancy, management consultancy activities, advertising, market research, technical testing and analysis, architectural and engineering activities and related technical consultancy, etc. 
  • Energy Services - energy-related consulting and training services, etc.
  • Information & Communications Technology (ICT) Services - motion picture/film, publishing, sound recording, radio broadcasting, computer programming, software developers, etc.
As space in the programme is limited, companies will be selected for participation in each programme phase based on their level of effort, completion of exercises, and market readiness capacity.  
This application form is for participation in Phase 1 of the GATEWAY to Trade programme. Phase 1 involves training and coaching. The training will begin the week of October 18 and run until the week of December 13 (9 weeks). Participants of Phase 1 will be required to commit approximately 3-4 hours a week to the programme, including participation in the training (2 hours per week) and the completion of assignments. Based on effort and likelihood of success, select Phase 1 companies will be invited to participate in Phase 2 of the programme.

This application will take approximately 15-20 minutes and should be completed by the individual responsible for international business development in your company. There are 25 questions covering individual, company and export information. Questions marked with an asterisk * are mandatory. Companies selected to participate in this first phase of the programme will be notified on or before October 11, 2021.
