The Town of Fort Frances is updating its existing Community Improvement Plan (CIP), which was adopted by Council on February 10, 2003, and most recently modified December 22, 2008. The Town’s existing CIP promotes economic development and revitalization through a series of Financial Incentive Programs available for private property owners throughout the Community Improvement Project Area, which is comprised of three (3) distinct Project Areas that collectively encompass the entire municipality.
The CIP Update project is an opportunity to review the existing CIP and Community Improvement Project Area, and refine the suite of Financial Incentive Programs available to eligible property and business owners /operators to align with current economic development and community improvement needs and priorities. CIP updates will identify opportunities to support downtown revitalization, business attraction, housing, and tourism, among other priorities, to support continued economic growth and vibrancy in Fort Frances. The Town is seeking your feedback and ideas, to ensure that the updated CIP and Financial Incentive Programs reflect community improvement needs and priorities.
The Town has retained WSP, a consulting form, to assist with this project. A Draft Community Improvement Plan Background and Recommendations Report (June 2026) is available for review on the Town’s project website, and may assist you in completing this survey:
