ITE Pulse Survey on AI is organized into seven primary subsections, each designed to capture a distinct dimension of AI maturity, perception, and readiness within the transportation profession:
- Context and Background establish the professional roles of respondents to support segmentation and longitudinal analysis across districts, sectors, and experience levels.
- AI Awareness and Current Usage assess familiarity, confidence, and practical application of AI tools in professional work.
- Strategic Opportunities and Potential evaluates where respondents see the greatest potential for AI application across transportation domains, using a stable category structure with evolvable sub-areas.
- Barriers and Risk Landscape identifies organizational and sector-wide challenges, governance concerns, and implementation risks that may affect responsible deployment.
- Enablers and Support Needs capture the guidance, resources, infrastructure, and policy supports most needed to facilitate responsible and effective AI use in practice.
- Readiness and Future Reflection measure overall sector preparedness and invite forward-looking reflection on how the profession should approach AI as technologies continue to evolve.
