2027 FTMI Application

Introduction



Launched in partnership with Jacobsen in 2016, the Future Turf Managers Initiative provides opportunities for sports turf managers to develop the leadership and management skills required to become a successful leader in our ever changing industry.

Applications are now open for the Future Turf Manager's Initiative 2027.

This year, the FTMI will take place in a Hybrid format, with online education sessions commencing from November 2026 and culminating in 3-days of face to face training in March 2027.

It should be noted that to be eligible for the Future Turf Managers Initiative 2027 you will need to:

* Be a current ASTMA or NZGCSA Member.
* Have at least 2 years experience working full-time (post apprenticeship) in the turf management industry
* Be currently employed at a golf course, sportsfield or in a sports turf maintenance environment, holding the position of:
  • Superintendent, Grounds Manager or Curator with 3 or less staff
  • Assistant Sports Turf Manager / Asst. Superintendent / Asst. Grounds Manager / Asst. Curator.
  • Foreman/3IC/Senior Greenkeeper or Groundstaff
* Have the full support of your employer and manager to take part in the program
