Introduction: Job Task Analysis Survey

Thank you for participating in the 2017 Job Task Analysis (JTA) survey conducted by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards.

Your answers improve understanding of current professional practice, which contributes to efforts leading to portability and reciprocity of licensure.

For the purpose of this survey, a massage/bodywork practitioner is defined as a professional who uses massage or bodywork practices to promote, maintain, or restore health and wellness.

This snapshot of the practice will be used for ongoing development of a fair and appropriate national examination to ensure the ENTRY-LEVEL massage/bodywork practitioner is competent to safely practice.

Massage/bodywork practitioners with all levels of experience are needed to answer how frequently they personally perform various tasks. Each task is also given a rating of importance specific to the entry-level massage/bodywork practitioner. This information is used to guide examination content and blueprint the test.

Passing the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx) protects the public and enhances professional standing. Be assured that your input adds to the integrity of the process. The examination will reflect the reality of practice and the knowledge required to perform the job in a safe and competent manner.

We appreciate you sharing your expertise with us. We promise to carefully analyze all of your responses and read all of your comments. Results of the JTA will be made public.

We realize this is a long survey. However, it is important to capture as many aspects as possible of the massage and bodywork therapy profession.

It takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete the JTA survey.

IF YOU NEED TO COMPLETE THE SURVEY IN MORE THAN ONE SESSION, YOU MAY LOG OUT. THE SURVEY WILL RETURN TO THE PLACE YOU LAST EXITED WHEN YOU LOG BACK IN.
