Survey on road safety for designated operators (DOs)
United Nations Road Safety Strategy
The United Nations Road Safety Strategy of January 2018 was designed to help the UN system improve road safety in a sustainable and coordinated manner, in line with the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021–2030 declared by the UN General Assembly, as well as the associated Target 3.6 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which seeks to halve the number of global deaths and injuries from road traffic accidents by 2030.
As a specialized agency of the UN, the UPU is committed to contributing to the achievement of these objectives in line with its Constitution and within its mandated areas of activity; therefore, the UPU is seeking information from designated operators (DOs) on the safety profile in the postal supply chain, focusing specifically on road safety, current training programmes, and future needs.
This survey has been developed to obtain detailed information on the safety profile of each DO. It will be analyzed to support the delivery of an overall UPU road safety policy that seeks to reduce vehicle-related incidents and protect postal personnel against unnecessary harm.
Your responses to the questions will help increase understanding of this complex topic, and we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
