FECU Scholarship Application for the 2026-2027 school year

Thank you for your interest in the Federated Employees Credit Union (FECU) Scholarship Program. This year, the FECU is offering $1,000 scholarships to up to two eligible members. Before you begin the application and essay, please take a moment to carefully read the guidelines provided. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM on February 28, 2026. Late submissions, incomplete applications, and those not following the guidelines will not be accepted.
  • Eligibility: Scholarship applicants must be members of Federated Employees Credit Union in good standing as determined by the credit union. Immediate family and household members of the Board and Staff of FECU are not eligible to enter. Applicant must be a student pursuing post-high school education in the 2026-2027 school year. The school can be a public or private university, college, graduate or law school, or a 2-year or 4-year community or technical college. All schools must be accredited by the U.S. Department of Education. Students must attend the fall and spring semesters to receive the scholarship funds.
  • Essay: Essays will count for 75 percent of the evaluation. Spelling and grammar will be considered. To ensure a fair evaluation the essay portion cannot include your name. The submitted essay can be up to 300 words. Interviewing staff members and volunteers at our credit union, research materials, or including personal experience in your essay is encouraged, but it is not required.

  • Deadline: Applications must be completed and submitted by 11:59 PM February 28, 2026.
  • Selection: Financial need is not considered in the selection of scholarship recipients. The selection committee members are volunteers from the FECU board and management. The committee will review all applications and select the scholarship recipients. The decision of the selection committee is final and not subject to review.
  • Winners: The scholarship recipients will be announced in April and award winners will receive their scholarship money after completing the first semester of the 2026-2027 school year. Recipients must provide FECU a transcript from the fall semester and proof of registration for the spring semester. Upon receiving this information, scholarship money will then be provided directly to the recipient in the form of a check payable to both the student and the school. Scholarship recipients who attend school for ONLY the fall semester will not receive the scholarship money.
