1. Introduction

This survey will only take 10 minutes to complete.

WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?

Future Black Female (FBF) wants to hear from Black youth aged 16 to 26 across Canada. This national survey explores your experiences and challenges regarding your mental health journey and helps us understand the current mental health landscape. The results will fill the gap within Canada’s race and gender-based data and inform Future Black Female programming through the UDADA and UJAMAA projects.

WHY IT MATTERS
Black youth are navigating a world where their mental health needs and struggles are often overlooked, and their experiences left out of the data that drives decisions. Statistics Canada doesn’t collect race- and gender-based data like this. That’s why we’re doing it ourselves - with your help. Your voice makes it possible to build services, programs, and policies that truly address the needs of Black youth in Canada.

ABOUT FUTURE BLACK FEMALE
FBF is a registered charity based in Ontario, focused on empowering Black youth aged 16 - 22 across Canada. We provide access to strong networks, skills development opportunities, and rights-based advocacy to help them take charge of their education and career paths, as well as their social, political, and civic engagement.
