This is an introductory experience into the thoroughbred horse industry. Participants will learn about career pathways across the industry with a focus on horse-breeding, racing and equine veterinary nursing. Students will acquire skills through practical training at Scone TAFE and witness industry activities of interest, followed by work experience if desired.

This is a program that supports participants in gaining casual employment at Racing Stables or Stud Farms, in job roles such as:
Stable Hand, Stud Hand, Farming and Garden crews.

Education pathway opportunities include: Traineeships in Horse Breeding or Racing, Veterinary Nursing (equine stream), Agriculture and Horticulture.

DATES (TBC) SEPTEMBER - OCTOBER 2022
Monday - Friday (Week One): Immersion Program delivered by TAFE NSW
Monday - Friday (Week Two): Optional Work Experience in a Thoroughbred Breeding or Racing business.

ELIGIBILITY
School Leavers, Job Seekers and Career Changers.
It is advised that the applicant be physically fit and capable of carrying feed and water containers, previous experience with horses is beneficial but not essential.
