The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care Standards Review Working Group will be responsible for actions and advice to the College covering:
- Reviewing and providing structured feedback and recommendations to enhance the relevance and clarity of NSQHS Standards for the paramedicine profession
- Promoting recognition of paramedic practice within national safety and quality frameworks by highlighting discipline‑specific requirements, risks, and contributions
- Identifying opportunities for improved integration of paramedicine within broader health system quality and safety initiatives
- Engaging with subject‑matter experts and stakeholders to ensure feedback is informed, evidence‑based, and reflects sector needs
- Supporting initiatives that enhance patient outcomes, particularly where improved standard alignment can strengthen safety, effectiveness, and continuity of care
- Monitoring emerging national quality and safety developments to ensure paramedicine considerations are proactively incorporated into future standards.
It is expected that committee members attend a minimum of 80% of meetings scheduled by the committee chair, are engaged in relevant discussion, and contribute to Working Group tasks/projects/surveys and ad hoc requests in a timely, efficient and respectful manner.
