In 2016 the Daily Oil Bulletin and partners conducted a survey on the state of digital oilfield adoption in the oil and gas industry and its potential to transform industry processes and improve productivity.

Today the Daily Oil Bulletin, along with its partners Amazon and Onica, is revisiting the survey in order to understanding the progress companies have made in integrating digital technologies into their business processes, and what challenges remain.

Part A of this survey focuses on 11 key technology categories (use cases) to analyze in depth. At the start of each technology page, a definition is provided to establish context, followed by a series of questions focused on understanding the maturity of each digital solution, the business case for implementation, and organizational readiness to implement the technology.

Part B focuses on the use of advanced technologies such as edge computing/Internet of Things, data analytics, and Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence within the industry.

Part C explores the benefits of adopting digital technologies, the barriers to adoption, and what can be done to eliminate barriers.

Please answer each question to the best of your knowledge.

The survey has approximately 60 questions and should take around 15 minutes to complete. To thank you for your time and input, after completing the survey you will be entered into a draw for a complimentary $1,000 prepaid VISA gift card. Additionally you will have advance access to the report, to be published in September.

Amazon, Onica, the Daily Oil Bulletin and JWN Energy may use data collected for this survey for commercial purposes.
