Pending a review of the existing statutory guidance for Designated Teachers for Looked-After and Previously Looked-After Children in England, Adoption UK is carrying out research to find out what is currently working well and what could be improved.
We welcome the views of all Designated Teachers who are currently working in schools in England, or have been within the past three years.
By completing this survey, you will be contributing to the knowledge and evidence base around the education of previously looked after children. The results will be published later in 2026 as a short report which will be hosted on Adoption UK's website and shared with officials at the Department for Education.
