The American Board of Dermatology (ABD) invites newly certified dermatologists to apply for the Board of Directors position of Young Diplomate Observer. The person chosen for this 3-year (July 1, 2024-June 30, 2027), non-voting role will represent the interests and perspectives of recently certified dermatologists in ABD Board of Directors’ discussions.

The Young Diplomate Observer position, which was added to the ABD Board of Directors in 2020, is part of the ABD’s commitment to enhance the value of Board Certification and strengthen our partnership with diplomates in all stages of their careers. 
 
Eligibility
The candidate must have earned ABD certification between 2019-2023

The candidate must be a practicing dermatologist working in a (largely) non-academic setting

Requirements
Must be currently participating in continuing certification. 
Must be available to attend an annual 3-day Board of Directors meeting in Chicago in early June
Must be available to participate in 1-hour BOD Zoom meetings in March, September and December 

Compensation: The Board Observer, as well as all Directors of ABD, is not compensated beyond travel, lodging, and meal expenses.
