Welcome!

Please take the Deschutes River Access and Habitat Restoration Survey to help inform the draft project list!

This 15-20 minute survey is about recreational access (non-motorized) and habitat restoration at Bend’s Deschutes River parks. The survey will provide the Bend Park and Recreation District with important data regarding river use, as well as feedback on 33 potential projects being considered for inclusion in the plan. This survey will be one of a number of public input opportunities to inform the plan.

The Deschutes River Access and Habitat Restoration Plan focuses on the 16 river parks managed by the district. River use has grown in popularity over recent years and increased use has caused impacts such as habitat degradation and bank erosion. This plan seeks to:

·       Identify and prioritize projects that balance habitat restoration and user access

·       Improve and consolidate existing access points

·       Engage diverse stakeholders to inform plan

·       Develop a fiscally sound implementation plan

Funding for projects included in the plan will come from property taxes and it is anticipated that many, if not all of these projects, will require some portion of partnership and/or grant funding to move forward.

If you encounter any challenges taking this survey on your desktop, tablet or phone, please contact Kelsey Schwartz at (541) 706-0403 or kelseys@bendparksandrec.org to walk you through the survey and record your responses.
