Public Consultation on the draft Emergency Laparotomy Clinical Care Standard

Background

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (the Commission) is seeking comment on the draft Emergency Laparotomy Clinical Care Standard.

The draft Clinical Care Standard includes 9 quality statements that describe the care that should be offered, and a set of indicators to support healthcare services with local monitoring.
The quality statements focus on priority areas of care for quality improvement and are based on current clinical guidelines and evidence.

Each quality statement is explained for consumers, clinicians and healthcare services.
