Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be a Rhode Island resident with a significant disability and seeking financial assistance for college or technical school. Preference is based on merit, economic need, and career goals.
Carefully complete all required portions of this application; incomplete application cannot be considered.

We strongly recommend that you gather the following required financial information in advance:
  • Your average monthly income from work
  • The gross average monthly income from work for any other members of your household (parents, spouses, etc.)
  • The average monthly income from other sources such as Social Security, workers' compensation, child support, etc.
  • The average monthly amount of any significant medical or rehabilitation expenses.
You will also be required to upload two completed essays. we strongly recommend that you prepare both essays prior to beginning this application. Please write a one page essay for each of the prompts below:
  1. How has your disability affected you? Describe some ways in which you have overcome or adapted to your disability in order to achieve your goals.
  2. What are your career goals? Describe what inspired those goals, what steps you have already taken to reach them, and how your future plans will help you achieve success. Please be specific.
Completed applications must be submitted by no later than March 21, 2026.
