Every year, BC Farmers’ Markets honours markets that bring communities together, connect people with local food and artisans, and create thriving spaces for farmers, makers, and shoppers. Winners will be celebrated at the BC Farmers’ Markets Awards on March 7, 2026 during the BC Farmers' Market Conference.

Award Categories:
  • Small Market: 7 - 20 vendors per week on average
  • Medium Market: 21 - 60 vendors per week on average
  • Large Market: 61+ vendors per week on average

Who Can Be Nominated?
All BC Farmers' Markets member markets in good standing.
Note: Nominees are not eligible to win the same award two years in a row.

Last year's winners:
Small: Comox Valley Farmers’ Market – Sunday
Medium: Sicamous Farmers’ Market
Large: Duncan Farmers’ Market


What Makes a Market Outstanding?
We're looking for markets that:
  • Play a vital role in their community
  • Support local farmers, artisans, and vendors
  • Offer creative events and educational programming
  • Champion the BCAFM “make, bake, grow” philosophy
  • Connect diverse consumers with fresh, local, sustainable food

Nominees will be evaluated by a panel of BC farmers' markets collaborators.
