DCNP 2026 Board of Directors Ballot

Members of the Delaware Coalition of Nurse Practitioners (DCNP) are a critical component to the organization's continued function and leadership. Each January, DCNP holds elections for positions on the Board of Directors. This cycle, the positions up for election are the President Elect, the Treasurer and the Southern Chapter Coordinator. Below is the DCNP 2026 Election Ballot. Although this year we have one candidate for each open position , it is just as important for members to vote in the election. Please take a moment to complete the ballot so the DCNP can continue its important work advocating for NP practice and for healthcare in Delaware. Thank you.
1.President Elect: Krista Henshaw MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Ms. Henshaw graduated from the University of Delaware with a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) in 1996 and received her MSN degree in 2012. As an NP, she worked in Beebe hospital with the hospitalists for one year and then moved to the outpatient sector - where she helped establish the CHF/telemonitoring program for Beebe Home healthcare and for the past 7-8 years has worked with Beebe Population health - helping to address SDOH (social determinant of health) needs and find ways to reduce hospital readmissions.

Ms. Henshaw is very involved in Nurse practitioner representation at Beebe Healthcare. She sits on the APC (Advanced Practice Clinician) council and leads bi-monthly meetings. She is the APC member of the MEC (Medical Executive Committee) attending monthly meetings and reports on issues affecting APCs.

Ms. Henshaw currently serves as the Southern Chapter Coordinator for the DCNP. As part of that position, she is a member of the DCNP Board of Directors and attends the monthly DCNP board meetings. Ms. Henshaw has been organizing and coordinating monthly dinner meetings for the southern part of the state.

As president - elect, Ms. Henshaw would continue to work with the DCNP board of directors and focus on growing the statewide membership by expanding the membership committee and creating initiatives to increase membership by reaching out to different nursing school programs, hospital-based programs, and private practices

With over 40 years in the nursing profession, over 25 in oncology nursing and 13 years as a nurse practitioner, Dr. Mann is passionate about her "calling" as a nurse. Dr. Mann believes in the Delaware Coalition of Nurse Practitioners' vision and mission for citizens of Delaware to have access to Nurse Practitioners who are free to practice without unnecessary barriers and to promote high standard of health care delivery through the empowerment of Nurse Practitioners and the profession throughout Delaware.

Dr. Mann joined DCNP in 2014 and has remained an active participant attending educational dinners and engaged in other chapter events. Prior, to joining DCNP she was very active in another national/local nursing organization as chapter coordinator for over 6 years and made an impact in doubling chapter membership and coordinating meaningful monthly education dinners. Dr. Mann has witnessed personally the unique challenges and opportunities faced in obtaining relevant conferences.

As Southern Chapter Coordinator, Dr. Mann will continue to work with pharmaceutical representatives to provide educational programs. She believes education must be accessible and consequential.
