The Students' Association of MacEwan University (SAMU) is conducting this survey to gather critical data on the living situations of our students.
Our Goal: To gather accurate, up-to-date information on housing costs, conditions and barriers that students face.
How the Data Will Be Used: Your responses will be aggregated to create comprehensive reports. To ensure we capture the entire picture from hundreds of open-ended comments, we will utilize a Large Language Model (LLM) to help us process the feedback. This process includes sentiment analysis to understand the general sentiment behind the comments, as well as thematic analysis, which enables us to identify and categorize recurring ideas and suggestions. This ensures that all key issues are identified accurately and efficiently. This evidence will be the foundation of our advocacy for better housing policies, improved student services, and greater affordability.
A Note on Confidentiality & Your Privacy
Please note that this survey is confidential, but not anonymous. This enables us to link your responses across multiple surveys, allowing us to understand how student situations evolve over the course of their academic career.
SAMU is committed to protecting your privacy. Your personal information will be kept secure and will never be shared. All findings will be reported in a summarized, aggregated format so that individual students cannot be identified.
