2025 Mayor's Budget Consultation Survey

Greetings,

The City of Windsor stands at an inflection point.

Windsor is facing the evolving needs, opportunities, and challenges that go hand in hand with incredible economic growth, creation of new jobs, and a rapidly growing population, all fueled by large-scale infrastructure projects and unprecedented investments.

As a ‘Revival City’, Windsor is an international gateway between Canada and the United States, home to the busiest trade corridor between the two nations, the Automotive and Automobility Capital of Canada, and one of the most important communities to watch in Ontario and Canada.

Together, we are Building Windsor’s Future through our Housing Solutions Made for Windsor strategy to increase housing supply; the Strengthen the Core: Downtown Windsor Revitalization Plan to attract new investments, businesses, residents, and visitors to the core; supporting the creation of More Jobs – More Opportunities that leverage this time of development; and Investing in Growth to improve quality of life for residents while creating and sustaining the conditions to help attract future investments to our community.

Despite anticipated long-term revenue growth from economic development, increased business activity, and rising housing starts, the City faces extraordinary budgetary pressures in considering the 2025 City Budget. Unfortunately, these are driven by factors largely out of the corporation’s control, including contractual obligations, legislated requirements, and inflationary pressures.

Amidst evolving needs, opportunities and challenges, I have launched the Mayor’s Budget Consultation Process to provide an additional avenue for Council engagement and resident feedback to support the 2025 City Budget.

This public survey for residents will provide direct feedback, re-affirm support for critical infrastructure projects, and offer suggestions for reliable service delivery while keeping our great city affordable.

Thank you for participating.

- Mayor Drew Dilkens
