What do you think?
The University of Birmingham and the National Trust are working together to pilot a project called 'Cultures of Care' in 2026. This initiative, with on-site, object-rich and interactive sessions offered to schools (likely KS2 and 3), will encourage pupils to reflect on caring for objects, drawing on historical and current practices. This aims to help learners become more materially engaged and literate, challenging our throw-away culture and with the ultimate goal of helping us better protect the natural world.
To inform development of the work, we'd really like to hear what you, as a teacher, think about this idea. We'd be grateful if you could complete the following questions. It'll take only about 6 minutes.
Survey findings will be shared with the project leads at the University and National Trust. All survey responses are anonymous.
