1.
Which statement most closely represents your opinion of the Canary Island, Torrey, Aleppo, and Japanese black pine trees in your neighborhood?
I believe the benefits provided by the pine trees (shade, aesthetics, character and ambiance, carbon sequestration, wildlife habitats, etc.) outweigh any existing negative impacts that they may place upon the neighborhood.
I believe the existing negative impacts placed upon the neighborhood by the pine trees (uplifted concrete, surface roots, pine cone and needle litter, etc.) outweigh the many benefits they may provide.
I do not have a strong opinion regarding the pine trees in the neighborhood.
2.
Which statement most closely represents your opinion with regard to a removal and replacement program for the Canary Island, Torrey, Aleppo, and Japanese black pine trees in your neighborhood?
I would like to see all of the pine trees removed and replaced as soon as possible.
I would like to see all the pine trees gradually removed and replaced as part of a phased program (see Questions #3 and #4).
I would like to see the pine trees removed and replaced on an individual basis, only when it becomes necessary for a tree to be removed, based on the declining health of the tree or immediate safety concerns.
I would like the City to make every effort to preserve all of the pine trees for as long as possible.
