This study aims to investigate how South African foundation phase educators perceive children’s stories written by humans and by artificial intelligence (AI). The study will analyse educator ratings and short reviews to understand attitudes toward AI-produced educational texts, and your responses will help guide future research on this topic.

The CSIR Research Ethics Committee has approved this study. The reference number for this project is REF: 547/2026.
Lucky Draw
As a token of appreciation for taking part in our study, one participant from each of South Africa's nine provinces will be randomly selected to win a R500 Takealot voucher.

Participation in the lucky draw is entirely voluntary and will not affect your participation in the study. To be entered into the lucky draw, you must complete the survey and provide your name and email address in the relevant section.

The random draw will be conducted separately for each province after the survey closes on 31 October 2026. Each eligible participant will have an equal chance of being selected within their province. The winning participants will be contacted by email by 30 November 2026.
