MI-AWWA 2027 Call for Seminar & Webinar Presentations

Share your knowledge with Michigan's water workforce.

Every MI-AWWA program needs a different kind of talk.MI-AWWA members and other water professionals; operators, engineers, regulators, researchers, or subject-matter experts, are welcome to submit. Members get priority, but all qualified voices are considered. First-time presenter? We're glad to help you prepare. Pick the format that matches what you want to share.
  • Regional Seminars (45 minutes, in person, Spring & Fall) — Hands-on distribution knowledge in spring, treatment knowledge in fall — delivered where Michigan's water community already gathers. Because each seminar series is presented at two regional locations, presenters must be available to deliver their presentation at both dates and locations within the seminar series they select.
    • Spring Regionals: April 13, 2027 [Marshall, MI] & April 14, 2027 [Bay City, MI]
    • Fall Regionals: October 13, 2027 [Oakland County] & October 14, 2027 [West Michigan]
  • Water Solutions (60 minutes, virtual, monthly) — Present live from your desk. No travel — just your expertise, reaching water professionals across the entire state.
    • Webinars occur on the third Thursday of every month, except for February and September

7.Provide three learning objectives of the presentation.  Begin your response with verbs such as: understand, demonstrate, learn, recognize, implement, assess, etc.)(Required.)
8.By submitting my presentation abstract for consideration, I agree to a Speaker Agreement, and based on mutual consideration, I understand and agree to the considerations as listed below.

If accepted to present, I agree to not engage in any type of promotional marketing or selling of any product or service during the presentation.(Required.)
9.If you answered No, please provide your reason.
10.To the best of my knowledge, my presentation does not violate any proprietary or personal rights of others (including any copyright or privacy rights), is factually accurate, and contains nothing libelous or otherwise unlawful.(Required.)
11.I grant to MI-AWWA a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, unlimited use, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, distribute, and sell my presentation (including all handouts and PowerPoint presentations) in any way, with appropriate attribution to me.  I understand that this license does not change the fact that I retain copyright ownership of my presentation and does not prohibit me from using my presentation in any way or from allowing others to use it.(Required.)
12.I provide consent for MI-AWWA to record my presentation in audio and/or visual form. If my presentation is recorded, I understand that MI-AWWA will be the sole copyright owner of the recording. (Required.)
13.In less than 200 words, provide a brief biography of yourself that would be used to introduce you. Include your professional qualifications, education, etc. (Submission of an introduction does not constitute automatic acceptance of a presentation.)(Required.)
14.I authorize MI-AWWA to use my name, likeness, photograph, and biographical data in connection with the use and promotion of this event and my presentation.(Required.)
