The City is currently accepting applications for one (1) Public Member in the following area:
  • Resilience and Natural Resources - to support the City in protecting and conserving ecosystems and natural resources now and into the future.
Sought after expertise in these areas may include, but will not be limited to:

• Engineers (e.g., civil, water resources)
• Climatologists
• Ecologists
• Freshwater Biologists
• Physical Scientists
• Planners, MCIP
• Architects
• Other – Demonstrated Relevant Experience

Applications will be accepted until Sunday, December 21, 2025

This Panel provides City Council with expertise, opinion, and perspective about environmental and sustainability matters, including the City of St. John’s energy intensity, greenhouse gas emissions, adaptation, resilience, energy poverty, and environment. Additionally, the Panel is responsible for assisting in the progress of environmental and sustainability matters in the City of St. John’s. More information about the experts panel can be found in the Terms of Reference.

Eligibility
Preference will be given to residents of St. John’s. Public members must have certification, accreditation, affiliation and/or demonstrated expertise and experience in matters of the environment and/or sustainability. Exceptions may be made by the selecting body as appropriate.

Selection Information
In addition to eligibility requirements, an applicant’s specific skills and experience will be important factors in panel selection. A resume must be included with application submissions. Applicants with demonstrated participation in groups or initiatives with goals relevant to an expert panel’s purpose will be preferred.
