Program Information:
Inflammatory Bowel Diseases® and Crohn's & Colitis 360 (referred to herein as "Journals") invites applications from rising second- or third-year gastroenterology or advanced IBD fellows for three, part-time, voluntary Editorial Fellowships:
- A clinical-focused Editorial Fellow for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases®
- A translational/basic science-focused Editorial Fellow for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases®
- An Editorial Fellow for Crohn's & Colitis 360
The Journals are seeking Fellows who have good medical judgement, excellent communication skills, an interest in publishing, as well as someone who can work independently.
The Editorial Fellow will participate in weekly activities of the Journals including attending editorial meetings to gain a deeper understanding of how a peer-review journal works.

The Editorial Fellow will participate in weekly activities of the Journals including attending editorial meetings to gain a deeper understanding of how a peer-review journal works.
The successful candidate will:
- Obtain insight into the peer review process
- Learn the roles of editor, reviewer, and publisher to gain a broad understanding of the overall scientific publishing process
- Learn how to recognize the characteristics of well-conducted research and scientific writing that make a manuscript worthy of publication
- Learn how to detect flaws in the scientific writing style, study design, statistical analysis, and data interpretation that compromise the quality of research and lead to manuscript rejection
- Have the opportunity to publish in the journal
- For Inflammatory Bowel Diseases: Act as an Associate Editor, reviewing clinical and/or basic research submissions, under the supervision of the Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editor
- For Crohn’s & Colitis 360: Work closely with assigned Associate Editors and the entire editorial team
The anticipated commitment for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases would be 10 hours per week and for Crohn’s & Colitis 360, approximately 10 hours per month.
The Journals Editorial Fellowship will begin in mid-July 2026 and run through June 2027. You will be notified of acceptance by June 2026.
