The University of St. Thomas is seeking input from neighbors and community members as it explores future development. The university hopes to better understand what matters most to the residents and communities surrounding campus.

While there are no specific or immediate development plans, the university is looking ahead to the next 5-10 years to anticipate emerging needs. These needs include additional on-campus parking and student housing, with the potential to add retail space on Grand Ave. The university also expects that other campus facilities to support academic and administrative functions will be needed in the future. Mid Campus provides the greatest potential to meet these future space needs.

To make this planning possible, the university is interested in updating its Conditional Use Permits (CUP) that govern campus development. In particular, the CUP that governs its Mid Campus area is very complicated and has made it difficult to plan for the future. This is the area bordered by Cleveland and Cretin Avenues, Summit, and Grand Avenues.

An update would allow better alignment with current needs of the campus and the neighborhood, and with the City’s goals and current development policies.

The goal of this survey is to understand the following:

- When it comes to development, what is most important to the communities near campus?

- What community amenities would benefit both the campus community and neighbors?

- What are the priorities for Summit Avenue near campus?

- What are the priorities for Grand Avenue near campus?

This survey is anonymous and should take less than 10 minutes to complete. Thank you for your time and insight.
