Introduction

The City of Vaughan is continuing to explore improvements to Alexander Elisa Park through its State-of-Good-Repair program, which allocates funding each year to repair, replace and update park facilities across the community to ensure they are kept in good condition for all to enjoy.

In June and July 2025, community members participated in an online survey and Open House to share their thoughts on the existing bocce court at the park. We heard from 174 people, and the majority expressed a desire to replace bocce with an alternate amenity (PDF). Popular alternatives to bocce included an outdoor fitness area, a new play area and a gathering space. We also heard a strong desire for a splashpad at the park through additional suggestions.

Informed by this feedback, City staff have developed two potential concepts for the park, one featuring an outdoor fitness area and additional play area, and another featuring a splashpad. Both concepts also include a new gathering space with a shade structure. As there is only budget available for one set of improvements, your input will help us determine which concept to move forward with and how to finalize the design.

Take the survey to let us know what you prefer!
