2026 MSC Māori Practitioners' Hui Registration |
Te Kaunihera Pūtaiao Hauora o Aotearoa | the Medical Sciences Council (the Council) in collaboration with Te Ama Tōtika - the Māori Practitioners Advisory Committee to the Council - are hosting a hui for Māori medical laboratory science and anaesthetic technology practitioners on Friday 19 June 2026, 9.30am to 4.30pm, at Rydges Hotel, Featherston Street, Wellington.
There is no charge to attend the hui.
The purpose of this hui is to:
• Introduce Te Ama Tōtika and its mahi.
• Whakawhanaungatanga and facilitate connections with other Māori practitioners.

• Whakawhanaungatanga and facilitate connections with other Māori practitioners.
• Discuss the relationship between the Council and Te Ama Tōtika and how matters relating to culture are raised and addressed.
• Workshop the Cultural Competency Standards and how to review competence issues in a mana-enhancing way.
• Hear how enhanced cultural standards embedded in the Anaesthetic Technician Scope of Practice are positively influencing the theatre environment.
