You are invited to participate in two, one-hour online support sessions for British military parents and carers currently based in Cyprus, in response to emerging need among military families affected by recent events.
These are therapist-led information and guidance sessions which will be delivered online using Zoom.
Session 1 will focus on helping parents and carers understand how stress can affect both adults and children during difficult and frightening situations. It will cover simple, practical strategies to help manage stress and maintain a sense of routine.
Session 2 will focus on helping parents and carers support children who may be feeling frightened, worried or uncertain. It will cover simple, practical, age-appropriate strategies for talking to children about difficult events, responding to distress and supporting them through reassurance, routine and simple coping techniques.
